Now, it is Monday, July the 1st the beginning of free-agency, where anything CAN and will happen.

#NYR president and GM Chris Drury full quote on Jacob Trouba situation:

"Jacob plays hard every night, provides a lot of leadership for us. Jacob knows what I think of him as a person and a player and I'm going to keep any private conversations I have with him or his agent...

As the team makes moves to turn the Rangers into a winning team, they acquired forward Reilly Smith today.

But as far as news goes with Trouba? Absolutely nothing, as even Elliotte Friedman noted at the end of the draft, the trade had stalled.

You'd have to assume with this statement, that Trouba has the Red Wings on his 15-team NTC.

It's difficult to see the path of where Trouba and the Rangers future is from here, but in the meantime, free agency continues.

The deal could still be on, as talks remain private, but the trade news seems uncertain for now.

Trouba played 69 games with the Rangers this season scoring 22 points( 3 G, 19 A) with a plus/minus of -4.
