New York Rangers have officially signed Barclay Goodrow's replacement
The New York Rangers have already made their first signing as free agency just opened.
The Rangers have officially made a move to bolster their fourth line after they got rid of a two time Stanley Cup Champion, Barclay Goodrow to the San Jose Sharks after putting him on waivers.
According to David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period The Rangers are set to sign forward Sam Carrick to a three-year contract worth $3 million ($1M AAV).
The 32 years old forward, brings a some experience to the organization with 240 NHL games played, mainly with his time with the Anaheim Ducks.
Carrick was traded to the Edmonton Oilers ahead of the 2024 deadline, and end up playing in 10 playoff games, contributing to the Oilers postseason efforts.
This past season hasn't been the greatest as he only tallied 16 points between the Oilers and Ducks, but he is definitely a cost-effective addition to the Rangers' lineup.
Over his eight-year NHL career, Carrick has recorded 28 goals and 53 total points, along with 478 hits across 240 games played.
