For the past several months, the Anaheim Ducks have made it clear that they intend to trade Trevor Zegras as general manager Pat Verbeek wishes to add experience to his lineup which has led to a potential trade with the New York Rangers.

According to Peter Baugh, it appears the Rangers is the preferred destination for Zegras and with the appetite of change for general manager Chris Drury and looking for younger talent to help complement his offence a player like Zegras would fit him perfectly.

With the recent rumors of Jacob Trouba potentially on the move, there is certainly a recipe for a trade between the two teams as the Rangers look to add younger talent while shedding some older money as Trouba's contract changes to a modified no trade from a no movement clause.

There is a new generation of Rangers that are up and coming including Matt Rempe, Gabe Perreault , Brendan Othemann, Will Cuylle and Braden Schneider. Adding a talent like Zegras would strengthen their future along with having an affordable cap hit of $5.75 million for the next two seasons.

Time will tell if Drury is willing to make the deal possible and the Rangers intend to be very busy over the next few weeks to months as he continues to reshape his roster even though they won 55 games of the regular season this year.
