NHL reporter reveals the Rangers are weighing personal factors in Trouba's trade
New York Rangers are faced with a significant dilemma when it comes to trading their captain Jacob Trouba.
Over the last few days the speculation and rumours have been confirmed that the Rangers are indeed trying to move Trouba.
However, the Rangers organization are faced with a massive dilemma as they want to make sure the captain ends up in a place that best suits him and his family.
Recent reports confirm that Chris Drury is working on a deal that send Trouba to the Detroit Red Wings, but over the last few days things seem uncertain as ESPN's Emily Kaplan provides an update on the situation.
A few notes ahead of July 1 in the NHL
As I said on our draft broadcast, the Jacob Trouba stuff is real. Believe family considerations are huge - and that could be hold up with potential Red Wings trade.
We'll see what transpires over next few hours before his trade protection kicks in, but his future with NYR is in limbo.
Regardless of that, Trouba no-move clause will change to a 15-team no-trade clause on July 1, which will allow New York to trade him.
With the Rangers are looking to clear cap space ahead of free agency, it'll be likely that Trouba is moved within the next 24 hours.
