The New York Rangers are on a streak at home. They're in a slump to start the season, as they've been shut out for the third time at Madison Square Garden. According to Oilers goalie Stuart Skinner, he wouldn't have imagined they were having that issue.

The New York Rangers have started the season in familiar territory.
They're in a slump under Mike Sullivan at home. In the last three games at MSG, the team has been shut down by its opponents.
Goalie Stuart Skinner was interviewed by Jonny Lazerus of Daily Face Off, and needless to say, he was shocked by the Rangers' woes.
Stuart Skinner on handing #NYR their 3rd straight shutout at MSG to start the season:

«I didn't know. Calvin told me that right after the game and I was honestly pretty shocked because of how they did play.»

Goalie Stuart Skinner Compliments The Rangers Play

The New York Rangers finished the night, held scoreless against the Stanley Cup-contending Edmonton Oilers. The team lost 2-0 in MSG in what was a painful finish.
Sam Carrick attempted to score a goal at the end of the game with 2:31 left, but was denied by Stuart Skinner with a flash of the glove. The Oilers' goalie would end the night shutting out the Blueshirts with 30 saves.
Skinner would compliment the team, as they made some amazing plays during the night, but maybe they're snake-bitten? They were incapable of capitalizing on the chances they did have that night.
That's what he could discern from their first matchup with the team that is supposed to be rebounding from a disappointing season in 2024-25.
