The New York Rangers organization has just confirmed some very terrible news regarding forward Vincent Trocheck who had sustained a upper-body injury early in the 2025-26 season.

Back on Thursday October 9th, the New York Rangers faced off against the Buffalo Sabres and during about halfway through the game, veteran forward Vincent Trocheck was forced to leave early after sustaining an injury.
UPDATE: Vincent Trocheck (upper body) will not return tonight.
Not long after head coach Mike Sullivan confirmed that Trocheck would in fact be considered week-to-week after being evaluated by the teams medical staff.

New York Rangers Confirm The Worse As Vincent Trocheck Is Placed On LTIR

However, following all this unfortunate news, the New York Rangers have confirmed the worst of it all as they finally provide an update on the 32-year old forward.
On Wednesday afternoon the Rangers confirmed that Trocheck has been placed on Long Term Injured Reserve (LTIR), meaning he will have to miss an extended period of time, at least 10 NHL Games or 24 days of the NHL season.
#NYR are placing Vincent Trocheck on LTIR.
Trocheck has been a key member of the organization ever since he joined the Rangers back in the 2022-23 season, as he carries himself as a true leader on and off the ice and has been known to be pretty effective while on the ice. So losing him long-term will leave a lasting impact on the organization.
On behalf of everyone here at NY Rangers Insider, we truly hope Trocheck's recovery goes smooth and he's able to return when he's ready to do so.
