Roster Transaction: New York Rangers Complete Another Roster Move As Defenseman Is Assigned To The AHL

Just moments ago the New York Rangers announced that have completed another roster transaction, following a tough 2-1 overtime loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs.
The New York Rangers have just announced that have resigned 29-year old defenseman, Connor Mackey, back to the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League after taking a 2-1 OT loss to the Maple Leafs on Thursday night.
UPDATE: Connor Mackey has been assigned to the Hartford Wolf Pack.
The reason Mackey was recalled to the New York Rangers in the first place was due to veteran defenseman Caron Soucy sustaining a brutal upper-body injury, and was placed on Injured Reserve (IR) after colliding head first into the boards while facing the Pittsburgh Penguins on October 11th.
New York Rangers Injuries Result In Many Unknown Questions
As of right now, no reports have surfaced to state if Carson Soucy will be returning to the Rangers lineup. However, this Saturday will be exactly a week from when he sustained his injury and the Rangers will face off against the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday night at 7:00PM.
Along with that, top defensive prospect Scott Morrow is still with the Rangers after being recalled from the Hartford Wolf Pack on Wednesday night, as defenseman Will Borgen sustained an injury as well, but he ended up being good to go and played on Thursday night.
So why does Morrow remain with the New York Rangers? Could it be to fill in for Soucy, or just serve as another option if Mike Sullivan decides to healthy scratch another defenseman.
However, the Hartford Wolf Pack's home-opener is tonight (Oct 17th), which is another possible reason why Mackey was sent back to the AHL, but again why wasn't Morrow?
