Just a day after reports surfaced regarding New York Rangers former 1st-round pick is gaining interest, we could see a trade happen sooner than later.

According to reports the New York Rangers and Toronto Maple Leafs could be combining for a trade involving former 1st-round pick, Brennan Othmann, as the Leafs are looking to add some more offense to the lineup.
Heavy.com has a new intriguing trade idea that sees the New York Rangers dealing Brennan Othmann to the Toronto Maple Leafs in return for two NHL proven players.
Maple Leafs acquire:

Brennan Othmann
2026 fifth-round pick
Rangers acquire:

Nick Robertson
Simon Benoit

The proposed deal would be an intriguing one as the Rangers would finally be able to move on from Othmann, a former first-round pick who has failed to earn a roster spot and a late-round pick. While at the same time the Rangers would acquire Robertson, a skilled young NHL forward, and Benoit, a hard-nosed defenseman, completely fleecing the Leafs.

Elliotte Friedman Confirmes Brennan Othmann Is Gaining Interest

According to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet, New York Rangers former first-round draft pick of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft, Brennan Othmann, has already gained some interest from NHL organizations despite it being so early in the season.
"It's early and most teams try to wait until making moves, but there is at least one name gaining traction out there. That's New York Rangers prospect Brennan Othmann."
Something the Rangers should take full advantage of as it would best benefit both parties to have a fresh start.
Othmann, who was selected with the 16th overall draft pick of the 2021 NHL Entry draft, buy the Rangers, has spent most of his time in the AHL, besides a total of 25 games in the NHL. However, since then he has continued to fail to make the Rangers opening-night roster, but could have a better chance with the Leafs.
