Legendary Broadcaster Sam Rosen Issues Encouraging Message That Will Surely Get New York Rangers Fans Excited
New York Rangers fans shouldn't be discouraged this season, as retired announcer Sam Rosen offered his perspective on the team's strengths and weaknesses. While the slump at home might be a concern, he feels confident in the team's abilities.
This is concerning news for fans, as the team was advertised to bounce back at the beginning of the season. In light of all of the chatter surrounding the team's woes,
retired announcer Sam Rosen interjected today.
The New York Rangers have the tools they need to be successful, according to Rosen.
He reframed the fans' negative perspective in what we should be looking at: the team's upside.
The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly of the Rangers Season
One bright point for Rangers fans is
Igor Shesterkin's goaltending, who has only given up 3 goals in 4 games. If we compared this to
Ilya Sorokin, who has given up 12 on 70 saves, we're already better off.
The Rangers have gotten off to a great start in goal. Igor Shesterkin. It's been brilliant. He's given up a total of only 3 goals in 4 games, and in his 1 game,
Jonathan Quick was outstanding. So as long as the goaltending holds up and there's strong defense, the Rangers will be in every game,
And I especially like the combination of Adam Fox and Vlady Gavrikov. They look good together. Fox is skating well. He's shooting the puck well. I think he's going to have a real Big season and of course, you know, he already has 3 goals.
Though he addressed the offensive woes later during the 4-minute-long video, he believes that with Vinnie Trocheck out of the lineup, the offense is suffering.
Add to that
Artemi Panarin and JT Miller, who have yet to recover from their injuries. But Miller still shows up every night, hitting and shooting the puck with purpose.
We won't see a JT Miller at 100% until he's shooting from the circle, according to Rosen.
And lastly, he'd compliment the team's third line, which was an active force against the Edmonton Oilers, with
Sam Carrick,
Adam Edstrom, and Matt Rempe being the great forecheckers he knows they can be.
While the atmosphere in Madison Square Garden seems gloomy, it won't last forever.
