The New York Rangers have just created NHL history following their game against the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday night.

The Rangers have once again been shutout on home ice at Madison Square Garden, making it the third time since opening-night on October 7th. Resulting in the organization to become the first ever team in the National Hockey League to do so.
After losing 3-0 to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Oct 7th, then losing 1-0 to the Washington Capitals on Oct 12th, and now again losing 2-0 to the Edmonton Oilers on Oct 14th, the New York Rangers have created history for being the first team in NHL history to be shutout in each of their first three home games to begin a new season.
The Rangers are the first team in NHL history to get shut out in their first three home games of the season, per NHL Stats.

The '28 Pirates still have the longest time without a home goal, but different OT rules led to them getting to 187 mins in under three full games.
The Rangers have become the first team in NHL history to open the season with three straight shutout losses at home
Certainly not the start of the season the New York Rangers were hoping for but despite all this the Rangers performance during the last two games have been incredible, unfortunately they just can't buy a goal for some reason.

J.T. Miller Sends Fans A Message After The New York Rangers Create NHL History

Following all this, Rangers captain J.T. Miller issued a statement to ensure fans that things will eventually turn around.
Message from JT Miller:

"It's a unique situation, but let's not blow this out of proportion. There's a lot of good. We're getting a lot of chances. This is a unique start to the season in the sense of, there have been games where we feel like we've really thrown a lot at the other team and we're not getting rewarded. So I think it's on us to make sure that the mindset stays the same in here, and we don't go off the grid to find something. We need to stay the course. Over time, the results will come."

Hopefully he's right as the Rangers will face off against Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday night.
