Encouraging Update Surfaces On New York Rangers Veteran Defenseman Following Frightening Injury

Just last Saturday, the New York Rangers received a massive scare as veteran defenseman crashed head first into the boards during the second period leaving him to be sidelined since.
On Saturday the New York Rangers were facing off against the Pittsburgh Penguins, when veteran defenseman Carson Soucy was forced to leave the game early after colliding head first into the boards during the second period.

Then the following day, the New York Rangers confirmed the worst possible news, as they revealed that Soucy was being placed on Injured Reserve (IR) with an upper-body injury. Something that created a ton of speculation on whether or not he sustained a concussion.

However, since then we haven't heard about any other updates on Soucy's status, at least until now.

On Thursday afternoon several reports broke out that provided fans with a very encouraging update on Carson Soucy, as the 31-year old defenseman returned to the Rangers practice but was repping a red non-contact jersey.
Carson Soucy is skating in a red non-contact jersey this morning in Toronto. He's still ineligible to play tonight but that's an encouraging sign. #NYR
By no means is he ready to play for the Rangers against the Toronto Maple Leafs tonight at 7:00PM, but it's certainly a good sign that he has returned to the ice.
