On Tuesday night the New York Rangers faced off against the Edmonton Oilers, where they created NHL history after being shutout for the third time on home ice. With that being said the Rangers also received some unfortunate news on defenseman Will Borgen.
The very next day the New York Rangers hit the ice for the morning practice, when the organization confirmed Will Borgen would not be participating as he sustained a lower-body injury. Something that had required the team to recall top defensive prospect Scott Morrow from the Hartford Wolf Pack.
Will Borgen will not practice today due to a lower body injury. Morrow being called up to ensure the Rangers have 7 defensemen if Borgen can't go in Toronto tomorrow.
But by the way the New York Rangers morning skate went, it appears that Borgen will be playing as Morrow and a few others were the last to leave the ice. Something that usually only players who will be healthy scratched stay out the latest.
Brodzinski, Mackey, Morrow and Soucy are all still on the ice. Borgen came off with the regulars, as did Pärssinen. Guess here is they both play tonight, but we'll confirm during warmups. #NYR
Certainly good news for the Rangers, but also a bit upsetting for everyone who was excited to see Scott Morrow make his 2025-26 NHL season debut with the Rangers.
