"It's Not About If It Goes In": J.T. Miller Leaves Fans Questioning His Mindset After Another Tough Loss

New York Rangers captain has left fans questioning his mindset following an unexpected statement after taking a 2-1 overtime loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday night.
Following the Rangers tough OT loss on Thursday night against the Maple Leafs, captain J.T. Miller issues a statement that isn't quite sitting right with some fans, resulting in a few to question his mindset heading forward.
During Miller's post-game interview he openly stated that it "doesn't matter if it goes in," clearly talking about the Rangers lack of scoring in their recent games. Now, he does have a point as he went on to say it's about keeping a strong mentality and to just keep pushing forward.
Here's what he had to say:
"If you're mentally weak, you're gonna go off the rails because this isn't working on paper. It's about getting the look. It's not about if it goes in. We're gonna keep pounding pucks at the net & outplaying teams we're playing against & it's gonna work eventually" - J.T. Miller
Unfortunately, some fans don't seem to agree with his statement, as the whole point of the game is to outscore your opponents.

With all that being said, it's clear to understand the type of message Miller is trying to send to fans and his teammates, as they can use this a learning curve and build off it.
J.T. Miller: "This is good for us, right now, as a team. We're going to learn from this. We're going to take pride in this. We're not going to change. We're going to test ourselves. It's going to be good.»
The New York Rangers will be back at on Saturday night as they face off against the Montreal Canadiens at 7:00PM.
