Tragic news strikes New York Rangers veteran as the 2024-25 season comes to an end

JT Miller's 2024-2025 NHL regular season has been one of ups and downs as the team he joined was in the midst of a retool. The team would finish 5th and out of the playoffs. Not the kind of way someone like Miller would like to end a season.

Now on the cusp of Media Break-Up day, it was reported by the New York Post's Mollie Walker that JT Miller wouldn't be available.

The reason? A close personal friend of his passed away, and with good reason, it served no purpose for him to be there while the family of his friend is suffering.

Instead of answering questions about the future he doesn't yet know, he'd rather be with his loved ones and friends.

Who can blame him?

Miller was a part of a mid-season trade that saw the New York Rangers send Filip Chytil, Victor Mancini, and a 1st-round pick in return.

The Rangers also received defenseman Jackson Dorrington and Erik Brannstrom, no longer a part of the Rangers team, but a Buffalo Sabre.

Miller will have to find a way to pick up the pieces back home, while the Rangers try to piece together a winning team.

It does no one any good for him to be there in the midst of the pain and agony he must be going through.
