The New York Rangers have great news for fans and prospect Noah Laba. It was reported by The Athletic's Peter Baugh that Laba can begin searching for a home in the area, which means he's earned a spot in the lineup.
It was reported by The Athletic's Peter Baugh that the team gave him the okay to look for a home close by. By all means, this is a victory for a team that has needed an injection of youth in the lineup.
Laba has been a flexible forward in the lineup, plays responsible hockey, and has been rewarded for it.
The former 20-goal Colorado College scorer got the news this week:
At this point, Laba appears poised to remain in the NHL for the year. The Rangers have told him he can look into local housing options, meaning he's able to move out of the hotel where the team houses players who might go back to AHL Hartford.
Noah Laba's Hard Work Has Paid Off
It started with earning the trust of Mike Sullivan after making the team out of training camp. Laba's
emergence wasn't expected.
He's been rewarded with a full-time job in the NHL and a spot in the top-six while the team weathers
Vinnie Trocheck's injury.
. The coach has experimented with him in the top six recently, and Laba has rewarded him with strong play on a line with
Will Cuylle and Alexis Lafrenière. He's up to two goals and four points in 14 games.
As it turns out, working with your coach to show you can backcheck competently means that you get more responsibility as you grow as a player.
While he hasn't been a goal-scorer, he provides good enough play on both sides of the puck that Sullivan has placed him with two of their best forwards.
