Heavy.com has made some entertaining trade pieces, in which their latest one sees the New York Rangers trade Alexis Lafreniere. The former 1st-round pick goes for an underwhelming return in this pitch.
With the Detroit Red Wings starting hot in the Atlantic Division, maintaining a spot in 2nd, they have hopes for a playoff run.
They could seek to bolster their lineup
through trade, as the puzzle pieces slowly come together for the team.
The Red Wings could look to the Metropolitan Division to add to their lineup, as GM Chris Drury could send Alexis Lafreniere, a
former 1st-round pick, to find a fresh start in the league.
While adding to the goalscoring power, they could get a former 1st-round pick at a bargain price.
While it seems underwhelming, the Rangers get a prospect, in Carter Mazur, who is one of the team's top prospects, a draft pick (second-round), and a depth defenseman.
It wouldn't be a great haul, but it would relieve the Rangers of some cap space and leave them to promote another prospect to use the cap space to find a better forward during the trade deadline.
The Red Wings would get a goalscoring forward to add to their top-six and solve a major issue that they've utilized someone like
Emmitt Finnie to solve.
