Trocheck suffered the injury during the Rangers' Oct. 9 game against the Buffalo Sabres and did not return. In 7:48 of ice time, he recorded one shot and one assist on an Alexis Lafreniere goal. New York won 4-0.
He's
been placed on the long-term injured reserve (LTIR) and has been suffering from an upper-body injury.
In the meantime, while we wait patiently for his return, the team has some promising news on his status.
Vinnie Trocheck Begins to Skate On His Own
The New York Rangers fans should be elated, as the
team has seen some progress in Vinnie Trocheck's status. He has begun to skate on his own, which is a good sign for both Trocheck's health and the team, which anticipates his return.
Trocheck had only played 2 games for the Rangers before he suffered the injury on October 9th.
The team misses his offensive prowess, as a player who scored 59 points (26-33) in 82 games last season in the top-six.
He's been a member of the Rangers organization since 2022-23 and has scored a career-high 77 points during the 2023-24 season.
