NHL veteran has just unexpectedly announced his retirement from the National Hockey League after only playing 523 NHL games between Arizona, Columbus and Detroit, but now the 28-year old is shockingly retiring from the league.
The 28-year old scored a career high of 33 points in his second season with Arizona back in the 2027-18 season, and ultimately could never reach those numbers agsin in his career, leading him to spend his last two years with Detroit and Columbus.
However, the 28-year old forward managed to tally 62 goals and 137 points in 523 games played in the National Hockey League.
Now, Fischer has decided it was time to move onto the next chapter in his life and hang-up the skates, according to reports from The Athletic there is no underline issue as to why he needed to retire.
"Over the last couple years, I think I just look at my life and what makes me happy, and being around family and kind of my life in Scottsdale - some of my friends here are really close with me, and I have a pretty small group out here, and honestly it's just more so a decision of moving on into another chapter of my life.
I wish there was a big reasoning why, but in the end, I'm very thankful for the career I had, but just personally I think I know it's time for a new chapter in my life."
Fischer was known as being a great teammate throughout his career and a solid producer on the ice when given the chance, but now he's ready to move onto the next chapter in his life.
