Devastating news strikes the hockey world as reports surfaces confirming the tragic passing of 18-year old, Christopher Dailey, who played for Gloucester High School.

According to reports the 18-year old sadly passed away after being involved in a head-on crash early on Monday morning, on Route 128. Hundreds of people and family members came to show their love and support for Dailey and those close to him at the Our Lady of Good Voyage Church on Prospect Street.
Dailey, was known as one of the top players for the varsity team, ended up having to be medflighted to a Boston Hospital after the tragic accident happened on the A. Piatt Andrew Bridge on 128 southbound around 1:45 AM.
Others were involved in the accident according to reports from HawksInsider:
Included in the accident were three other teenagers whose ages ranged from 18-19, and they would be injured too. This happened only two hours after the city had finished celebrating St. Peter's Fiesta.

Other victims of the head-on crash were an 80-year-old man who was injured in the accident and transferred to Lahey Hospital and Medical Center, and was listed in critical condition.

Chris Dailey's father, Rick Dailey, revealed the devastating news on Facebook while reporting that his son was on life support and wouldn't being recovering from his injuries.
"He is on life-support in preparation for organ donation, but will soon be with the Lord," said Rich Dailey, who grew up in Rockport where his family has deep ties.

"Although we haven't left the hospital since the accident, we have been overwhelmed by everyone's love, prayers, support and generosity," Rich Dailey wrote. "Our family and friends who attended the healing Mass at Our Lady's shared that the turnout was amazing."

The Hockey world is affected once again as another young talented player is taken way too young.
On behalf of everyone here at NY Rangers Insider, we'd like to send out deepest condolences to the family and friends Chris Dailey as they navigate through this extremely difficult time.
Rest easy..
