New York Rangers 9th-overall draft pick of the 2018 NHL Draft, is one of 19 players placed on waivers today, October 2nd 2025.

As the 2025-26 season nears, several NHL organizations are starting to really finalize their opening-night rosters. Resulting in some exciting names to hit the waiver wire.
One name that stands out the most is former New York Rangers 9th-overall draft pick of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft, Vitali Kravtsov. Who was placed on waivers by the Vancouver Canucks after looking to make a return to the NHL this season.

The 25-year-old winger is coming off an impressive year in the KHL, tallying a total of 27 goals and 58 points in 66 regular season games which helped Traktor Chelyabinsk reach the Gagarin Cup Final.
Resulting in the Russian forward to attempt to make a comeback to the NHL, by joining the Vancouver Canucks.
It will certainly be interesting to see if Kravtsov gets claimed or if he clears. Maybe the New York Rangers and GM Chris Drury would be interested in bring him back to New York?
