NHL Insider Says Rangers Emerge As Front Runner For Trade Target And Potential Offer
One of the situations to monitor is in Seattle, where it seems imminent that center Alex Wennberg will be traded.
On the Jeff Marek show, NHL insider Elliotte Friedman said that the Rangers are the favorites for Wennberg.
Alexander Wennberg was held out of Monday's morning skate for what Kraken head coach Dave Hakstol deemed "trade-related reasons," according to Kate Shefte of the Seattle Times.
The Athletic reported that the Colorado Avalanche and the Boston Bruins are teams that are in the market for a center.
The Rangers are believed to be offering a second-rounder plus a mid-level prospect for Alexander Wennberg.
Rangers Columnist Arthur Staple suggest the Rangers could use a third team to get double retention on Alexander Wennberg to keep the cap hit down to $1.125m, a second and a prospect to Seattle, a fourth or fifth elsewhere could get it done.
