New York Rangers' Forward Has Reportedly Emerged As A Top Trade Candidate: Per Insider
As the 2025-26 season kicks off on October 7th in Madison Square Garden at 8 P.M., we will ponder what lies beyond. The New York Rangers have a plethora of talent to deal should they need to, and this year's trade candidates aren't surprising, as we discuss the possibility of moving players like Juuso Parssinen or Matt Rempe.
The New York Rangers look to return to their former glory of their Presidents' Trophy era in 2023-24.
For that to occur, Drury will have to find the optimal lineup, and that means moving on from some players, as the veteran core remains stable. The team brought in plenty of depth to bolster the lineup and enough to trade should they choose to do so.
As Mike Sullivan learns the lineup, the team will look to continue to craft a winning lineup.
Here are three trade candidates for 2025-26:
Matt Rempe is a fan favorite for his old-style of play. The recklessness that we saw on the ice last year would land him in some trouble and would have discipline issued down to the rookie forward. His eight-game suspension after boarding
Miro Heiskanen wasn't pretty.
He only plays eight minutes a night, in a fourth-line role, and if he cannot mature his game, we expect Drury to deal him.
Soucy was another trade deadline acquisition from Chris Drury and had trouble staying in the lineup last season. He'd find his way up to the top four eventually and found a home with Will Borgen.
With this year being the last year of his contract, the Rangers could seek to recoup some assets, as the defenseman could become a rental elsewhere.
Jusso Parssinen was acquired from the Avalanche in the
Ryan Lindgren and Jimmy Vesey trade. Parssinen would do well enough to earn a two-year deal in New York, and as a 3C, the team could look to upgrade the position at the deadline.
Could he be on the way to his 3rd-team in two years?
