Former New York Rangers forward and Stanley Cup Champion was one of five elected to the United States Hockey Hall of Fame Class of 2025.
Earlier today,
it was announced by USA Hockey, that former New York Rangers center and Stanley Cup champion, Scott Gomez, will be inducted on December 10th in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Gomez was one of five elected as, his former teammates, Joe Pavelski (San Jose Sharks) and Zach Parise (New Jersey Devils) were elected, along with Tara Mounsey, a gold medalist from the U.S. national women's team at the 1988 Nagano Olympics, and longtime NHL photographer Bruce Bennett.
Unfortunately, Gomez didn't live up to they hype during his time with the Rangers. However, he did record 70 points (16 goals, 54 assists) for the Rangers during the 2007-08 season. Along with knocking the Devils out the Playoffs that year.
The following season, Gomez was named as an alternate captain, and unfortunately only tallied 58 points (16 goals, 42 assists) in 77 games.
