Tragedy Strikes As Former Stanley Cup Champion Sadly Passes Away At Just 57-Years Old

More tragic news strikes the hockey community as several reports have sadly confirmed the passing of former Stanley Cup Champion.
Earlier today, reports surface that confirmed former Stanley Cup Champion, Lonnie Loach, has passed at 57-years old.
Not long after the devastating news surfaced, the NHL Alumni Association issued a heartfelt statement:
The NHL Alumni Association is deeply saddened to learn that Lonnie Loach has passed away at the age of 57.
Lonnie was a standout player for the OHL's Guelph Platers, winning the OHL's Rookie of the Year award in 1986 en route to winning the 1986 Memorial Cup with the Platers.
After being drafted to the NHL later that summer, Lonnie made his professional hockey debut in the IHL with the Saginaw Hawks during the 1988-89 season and would lead the IHL in regular-season scoring a few seasons later with Fort Wayne in 1990-91.
The Ottawa Senators selected Lonnie during the expansion draft in June of 1992, and Lonnie would make his NHL debut with Ottawa on October 12, 1992. Lonnie joined the Los Angeles Kings a short while later, scoring his first NHL goal with the Kings on November 14th, 1992, putting a third-period shot past Edmonton's Ron Tugnutt.
Lonnie played 50 games for the Kings during the 1992-93 campaign and would go on to join the Anaheim Mighty Ducks for their inaugural season in 1993-94.
A native of Northern Ontario, Lonnie was active in his community, running «The Hockey School» in Englehart, Ontario.
