The New York Rangers have begun the process of turning over the roster and have concluded free agency with mostly depth additions and RFA signings. With some trades mixed in, GM Chris Drury will have to consider the outlook of the team next season as Jonathan Quick, Artemi Panarin, and Carson Soucy are soon to be free agents.

The New York Rangers will have a mix of young and veteran talent on the roster, as General Manager Chris Drury has made some excellent signings this postseason. Namely, defenseman Vladislav Gavrikov.
While he'd begin the turnover of the team in December, we won't see what the team truly looks like until they hit the ice in 2025-26.
With hope, the team will be ready for another postseason run with Artemi Panarin and Igor Shesterkin, as just some pieces of the core lineup remaining from 2019-20.
There remain questions of who will be left after the 2025-26 season concludes, and here are three players in what could be their final year with the Blueshirts.

Mentor, Veteran, and Goalie: Jonathan Quick

Jonathan Quick has one year left on his deal with the New York Rangers. It may be time for him to consider hanging up the skates or leaving the team at age 40 as his age increases, his production has declined unfortunately: as this year he started 20 games, and came away with a 3.17 GAA, and a .893 SV%.
While he's no longer in his prime, he can say he did his best to make an attempt to win another cup. He still has his others and can happily retire after a meaningful career.
Artemi Panarin has been swirling in trade rumors all summer, which doesn't bode well for the former 120-point forward. With just one year left on his $11.6 million deal, he could leave in free agency, leaving the team empty-handed if they miss the playoffs.
The Rangers could still find a buyer, and if they don't make the postseason, make it a point to recoup some of their investment.

Carson Soucy

Carson Soucy is set to play on the second-pairing, left side this season. But in the long term, he seems like a spotholder until a prospect, or Braden Schneider, would be ready to take the position. He'll have to contend with Urho Vaakanainen, Matthew Robertson, and Scott Morrow for the job eventually.
It might not be a bad idea to let him walk into free agency and recapture that space lost.
