The 29th captain in #NYR history: J.T. Miller.
Now, thanks to several other reports who know exactly who the organization has named as the alternate captains, as they have named four different players.

New York Rangers Alternate Captains Have Been Confirmed

Since the start of the offseason, many fans and insiders had their own opinions on who would become the Rangers next captain. For awhile many believed Adam Fox, Vincent Trocheck and J.T. Miller were all frontrunners to be named.
Obviously the organization named Miller as captain, which has left Fox and Trocheck as clear potential options for alternate captain. With that being said the organization has decided to name four alternate captains ahead of the 2025-26 season.
The four alternate captains have been confirmed as Vincent Trocheck, Artemi Panarin, Adam Fox and Mika Zibanejad.
Rangers full leadership group:

Captain: J.T. Miller

Alternate captains: Mika Zibanejad, Artemi Panarin, Adam Fox and Vincent Trocheck
Zibanejad, Fox, and Panarin all wore the "A" last season but now Vincent Trocheck will finally join the captaincy group of the New York Rangers.
Certainly the right move to name Trocheck as a alternate captain as many reports revealed he was a close second in being named as captain, and to add to that, he was one of the main players to step up as a leader last season after the Rangers traded former captain Jacob Trouba to the Anaheim Ducks.
