Early on Tuesday morning, the New York Rangers continue to add final touches before the 2025-26 season begins, one being Miller named as captain and now they have officially released that the organization has partnered with Game 7 to be their first-ever official jersey patch partner.
Former New York Rangers captain Mark Messier is the Co-Founder of GAME 7. Mark Messier Opens Up On Partner With The New York Rangers
Following the announcement of the Rangers first-ever jersey patch, Co-Founder of Game 7 and former Rangers captain, Mark Messier spoke out on how much this means to him:
«For me, the Rangers will always be family, and Madison Square Garden will always feel like home,» said Mark Messier, co-founder of GAME 7. «To now see GAME 7-something we built with the same passion and commitment to greatness that defined my years on the ice-become part of the Rangers' journey is incredibly meaningful. This partnership unites a legendary franchise, the world's most iconic arena and a brand created to inspire people to rise to their greatest challenges. As the Rangers celebrate 100 years, it's an honor to play a role in connecting the team's history with its future and to help bring even more unforgettable experiences to fans who have always been at the heart of this organization.»
A true turning point for the Rangers organization, as many fans don't like the idea of having a sponsor on such an iconic jersey, something that has sparked controversy. However, i personally think they look great and that they couldn't have picked a better spot to place to the patch.
I think placing the patch on the shoulder goes to show the Rangers organization cared about fans opinions regarding a sponsor patch on the front of a jersey, as many teams throughout the NHL have decided to place them on the front and took away from their initial logo.
