Early on Tuesday morning the Chris Drury and the New York Rangers have decided to name their 29th captain in franchise history.

Certainly something fans will have a opinion on as since the beginning of the offseason J.T. Miller, Vincent Trocheck, and even Adam Fox have all been candidates for the next captain and the majority liked the idea of Trocheck being named.
Considering, once the organization traded away their former captain Jacob Trouba to the Anaheim Ducks last season
, Vincent Trocheck was the main player to step up as a leader.
However, Chris Drury also had his own opinion while name Miller as captain, here's what he had to say:
«We're pleased to announce J.T. Miller as the new captain of the New York Rangers,» said Rangers president Chris Drury. "Since his arrival last season, J.T. immediately became a leader for our group and exemplifies how we want to conduct ourselves both on and off the ice. Congratulations to J.T. and his entire family on an incredibly meaningful achievement and we're confident he will continue to represent our organization with class, commitment, and integrity.»

J.T. Miller Earned The "C" With The New York Rangers

Miller was originally drafted by the New York Rangers back in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, during the first-round with the 15th overall pick, and since then he has grown a ton as a player, especially whenever he left the Rangers organization to join the Vancouver Canucks.
However, after Miller was re-acquired last season, he brought a mindset and tone of how the Rangers need to move forward on and off the ice. Ultimately earning the title as the 29th Captain in Rangers history.
