The New York Rangers will have a new documentary premiere on the 1993-94 Stanley Cup run. It will feature Mark Messier and other players from that era and is called "Canyon of Heroes". Watch it on SNY.

The 1993-94 New York Rangers had a dream of winning a Stanley Cup.
Mark Messier and the team would break a curse that season, and win a Stanley Cup as they defeated the Vancouver Canucks 3-2 in game 7.
The team would break a nearly 54-year-old curse to excite the fans in Madison Square Garden with the victory. The outpouring of emotion from the fans and team would later lead to the team doing what they truly set out to do: earn a ticker tape parade.
The idea was placed in their head by Head Coach Mike Keenan, and he'd show them footage of the New York Mets' 1986 Ticker Tape Parade as something to think about. When fans and the team come together to celebrate something bigger than themselves.
For Rangers fans, they can relive this treasured memory on SNY.

The Canyon Of Heroes: 10 P.M. On SNY

You can catch the exciting documentary detailing the Rangers' run to the Stanley Cup on Wednesday @ 10 P.M. on SNY.
The Canyon of Heroes might sound odd to out-of-towners, but for New York residents, it's a special corridor for the memorializing of ticker tape parades in the city.
The Canyon of Heroes is the name for the over 200 black granite plaques that commemorate and list every single ticker tape parade in New York City history.

The plaques are embedded in the sidewalks along Broadway in Lower Manhattan. They run on both sides of the street, from the beginning of Broadway at Battery Place, all the way north to Chambers Street, right next to City Hall.

It's only fitting that the New York Rangers get their own spot on the Canyon of Heroes. They're an institution that has defined New York and will be celebrating their 100th season in the league.
With players like Igor Shesterkin in the net, we hope to one day see them break the curse once again, as they're now going on 30+ years without another cup to their name.
The documentary should be exhilarating if you were around the team and the city then, as it sounds like it was electric to be there.
