We have tragic news to report, as longtime QMJHL referee Nicolas Dutil has passed away at he young age of 52. The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, and the hockey community are mourning the passing of Dutil, who held a long career in the league.
Dutil was a referee in the QMJHL, in the CHL, and was a referee for 28 years.

Dutil in 2018 reached a milestone in his career as a referee, as he officiated 1,000 games nearly seven years ago. A milestone that not many get to see and experience in their careers.
