The NHL has made an announcement regarding the 2025-26 preseason schedule. Preseason hockey will begin on September 20th and run until October 4th, 2025. The New York Rangers will begin their own preseason schedule against the New Jersey Devils.
The NHL has released the Preseason schedule, as games are slated to begin on September 20th and run through Saturday, October 4th.
The New York Rangers will begin preseason competition ramping up with a reignition of the Hudson River Rivalry against the New Jersey Devils on September 21st.
They'll later face off against their Original Six brethren, the Boston Bruins, on September 23rd, while facing off against their Long Island rivals, the New York Islanders, on September 25th.
They won't play again until September 29th against their Metropolitan Division rivals, the Islanders. In what should be easy pickings for the Rangers squad, who have something to prove this season.
The Rangers' last preseason game will take place on October 2nd against the New Jersey Devils, being sure to stoke the flames of the rivalry once again.
5th Place Finish and No Wilcard Spot
The New York Rangers will have something to prove this season, after a dismal 5th place finish in the Metropolitan Division.
This attitude should carry down to the prospects who will get to see more ice time than the veterans, who will see limited ice time until the regular season begins.
The team will have Mike Sullivan behind the bench, and J.T. Miller to lead the way during the regular season.
