We saw a tough move out of the New York Rangers camp this summer. It was a trade that sent Chris Kreider and a 4th-round pick to the Anaheim Ducks for Carey Terrance and a 3rd-round draft pick.

While for some players the new home might be intimidating, for Kreider, he's looking forward to the next chapter.
The Anaheim Ducks have already found a spot for him in the lineup, as he'll be flanking 1C Leo Carlsson, and on the right? Troy Terry, a dynamic winger.
While the Ducks have had a dismal offensive output, they hope that Kreider can be the one to push them out of the bottom, as they were ranked 30th in offense in the NHL last season.

The Ducks Are Happy To Have Kreider On The Team

The Ducks are thrilled to have a veteran like Chris Kreider arriving in Anaheim this season. He's already having a positive effect on the locker room, as forward Cutter Gauthier believes he'll be a significant addition to the team this year.
Anytime you get a big player like that, it's obviously going to help your lineup," Gauthier said. "We're fortunate that we were able to get him with how well he's done over these handful of years with New York. [We're] really looking forward to learning from him and playing with him as well."

Kreider has been busy training in Stamford, CT, with other former teammates like Matt Rempe, Adam Fox, and Brett Berard in preparation for 2025-26.
He was also a fixture in this year's nonprofit game: the 2025 Shoulder Check Showcase.
Kreider will join a rejuvenated Anaheim Ducks squad, which will feature three-time Stanley Cup champion Joel Quenneville as their coach. His first time behind the bench since 2021.

Kreider is expected to help boost the team on all fronts of the ice, including the poor power-play (11.8%).
