Former Metropolitan Division Veteran Officially Announces His Retirement After 13 Professional Seasons

"After 13 seasons of professional hockey the time has come for me to hang up the skates and leave my playing days behind me. I wanted to thank all of the people that believed in me and supported me throughout my career. Lots of ups and downs. An undrafted 6 foot tall goalie that was given a chance by the San Jose Sharks organization. When I look at some of the names I had the privilege of working with like Nabokov, Thornton, Pavelski, Marleau, Couture, Karlsson, Burns and so many great players that I will always consider friends, I feel very fortunate. I want to thank all the on and off ice staff as well as my teammates that l've worked with throughout the past 13 years."

"Aaron Dell has announced his retirement from professional hockey.

Aaron played three years of collegiate hockey with the University of North Dakota before starting his professional career in 2012 with the Allen Americans of the Central Hockey League (CHL), winning the Ray Miron President's Cup with Allen as the 2013 CHL playoff champions.

After biding his time, Aaron made his NHL debut for the San Jose Sharks on October 18, 2016, stopping 21 of 23 shots to record his first career win in his very first start and played 107 games for San Jose from 2016 to 2020. Aaron joined the NJDevils ahead of the 2020-2021 season, appearing in 7 games for New Jersey. During the 2021 offseason, Aaron signed with the Buffalo Sabres, starting 12 games for the Team before returning to San Jose for the 2022-23 season, where he played his final NHL games with the club where he began his NHL career.
