We Got A Pair Of Heavyweight Fights In One Game!
The Arizona Coyotes gave a pounding in last night 8-1 win over the Chicago Blackhawks.
But a pair of heavyweight fights graced the screen during the game.
The first fight happens 4:01 left in the first, it's between Blackhawks winger Nick Foligno, and Coyotes center, Liam O'Brien.
The second fight happens with one minute left in the second period, Blackhawks Jarred Tinordi against Coyotes Jack McBain.
With these two fights, O'Brien and McBain became the first pair of teammates since 1988, to each achieve a Gordie Howe hat trick in the same game.
The last time it was achieved, Jack McBain's father, Andrew McBain, and his teammate, Peter Taglianetti, accomplished this for the Winnipeg Jets.
A Gordie Howe hat trick consists of the player collecting a goal, an assist and a fight in a single game.
