Peter Laviolette issues unexpected statement following tough loss
The New York Rangers and Florida Panthers finished off Game 1, with the Panthers blanking the Rangers 3-0 in Game 1.
The Rangers held on as long as they could, with a good showing of defensive zone pressure in the end, but were unable to convert despite the fact.
Sergei Bobrovsky and the Panthers haven't missed a step, since closing out the Bruins series.
And for the first time in some time, the Rangers are trailing in a series with Laviolette in charge.
The Rangers closed the door on Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals, with ease, while putting the chaos at bay in Carolina, winning the series in 6 games.
However, the shoe is on the other foot and Laviolette feels the Rangers didn't play their best hockey.
Which of course, Lafreniere helped contribute to the Rangers' misery with an unintended goal against his team.
Laviolette needs to right the ship to gain a foothold in a series against one of the NHL's toughest teams, the Paul Maurice-led Panthers.
Florida leads the series 1-0, with the teams meeting up tomorrow, May 24th at 8:00 PM.
