New insight has unfolded regarding the New York Rangers exploring their options in trading their star forward, and two teams have been revealed to be interested.

The New York Rangers have spent part of the 2024/25 NHL season and the start of this year's offseason tearing down an immense amount of their roster, including majority of players who won the Presidents' Trophy in 2024.
Veterans such as Chris Kreider, Jacob Trouba, Filip Chytil, Ryan Lindgren, and K'Andre Miller have all been booted from New York by general manager, Chris Drury, within the last several months.
However, as the organization continues to make moves in order to hopefully recover from their most recent season that left the organization absent from post season contention, a new player has been rumored to be on his way out of New York.

Veteran forward, Mika Zibanejad, has been speculated to be the next player out of the New York Rangers organization

Sportnet's Elliotte Friedman addressed Zibanejad's situation on Sunday's episode of the '32 Thoughts' podcast.
«It's very clear (the Rangers) are working with Mika Zibanejad," Friedman stated. "(Head coach Mike) Sullivan (went) to meet him. They're trying to figure out a way to make it work, (and) avoid the noise.»

«You never know if it'll continue, but the bottom line is, this season is not starting the way the last two did," he said, referring to trade rumors and speculation.

Zibanejad, who is currently under contract for another five years at $8.5M cap hit, holds a full no-movement clause for the entirety of his contract.
«(Zibanejad) has not been asked to submit teams (he would accept a trade to) or waive (his no-trade clause),» Friedman said. «Nothing can happen without Zibanejad's control and approval.»

Although it is up to Zibanejad to decide whether or not he would like to depart from the New York Rangers organization, a new report has unveiled that two teams are showing immense in the veteran.

New report unveils that the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Utah Mammoths are both showing interest in veteran Mika Zibanejad

Take a look:
«I have some information regarding #NYR Mika Zibanejad and a possible trade situation coming out soon. Finishing up the last pieces now.

#LeafsForever, and #TusksUp would be two interested suitors, #Leafs in front.»
Do you think Mika Zibanejad will waive his no-trade clause to land in a contending organization for the 2025/26 NHL season?
