The New York Rangers have a great prospect in forward Adam Sykora. The forward has an excellent exhibition match against France in pre-World Championship matches this weekend. The 63rd overall pick was selected in the 2nd round of the 2022 NHL Draft by GM Chris Drury.
The New York Rangers selected Slovakian forward
Adam Sykora, 63rd overall in the 2022 NHL Draft. This weekend, Sykora made GM Chris Drury look like a genius.
During an exhibition match between Slovakia and France, the Rangers prospect scored the fastest hat trick in Slovak team history, 6:09.
All of his goals were scored in the 2nd period, two were shorthanded. He'd end the game with 4 points total against France that night.
This is just following Sykora's excellent 2024-2025 season with the Hartford Wolfpack in the AHL. He'd play a total of 71 games with the Rangers' affiliate and scored 30 points (9 goals, 21 assists).
Sıkora was drafted 63rd overall by the New York Rangers as the young player goes to an organization where he can easily reach his floor (a bottom six energy winger) or his ceiling (top six winger). Pat Quinn
This could be a sign that he's maturing enough to be given a look in the NHL after two seasons of play in the AHL with the Hartford Wolfpack.
Last season, during the 2024 World Championships, we saw him play 5 games with Slovakia and score 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist). In 2023, he only scored a point in five games with the Slovak team.
While not a major change in production, there's been some serious growth as a player we're seeing.
Could he eclipse that production this season?
