The New York Rangers received positive news today, as JT Miller, the 29th Captain of the team, has been seen skating again. According to a report from Vince Mercogliano of USA Today. Is there a chance we'll see him in the lineup before the beginning of the regular season?
During Monday's practice, Miller lunged to save the puck from exiting the zone as he dove and was slow to get up, appearing to favor his leg.
The 32-year-old ultimately limped his way off the ice and into the locker room. He did not return to practice.
Since then, the team has been without vital leadership on the ice, letting other prospects fill in where JT Miller and
Mika Zibanejad should be. While it's unfortunate that the team has been missing its Captain, the team has held up well during preseason play.
The team has gone 2-2-1 in the first five preseason games this year.
The New York Rangers 29th Captain Is Skating Again
The New York Rangers have placed Miller in a non-contact jersey while he continues to
skate on his own again.
The forward, who has been out of the lineup since the 29th, has been listed as
day-to-day and isn't suffering from a serious condition, fortunately enough.
Now, the 70 point (35-35) forward, he'll have to work slowly, but steadily, to get cleared to return.
Since he's been out of the lineup, forward Mika Zibanejad has taken over his former spot as 2C in the Blueshirts lineup.
