Laviolette Pokes Fun With Reporters After Practice
The Rangers are a team on a mission this season with high expectations.
The expectations have been elevated even more since head coach, Peter Laviolette, has been hired this past summer.
So far, the start has been promising. 7-2 record to start the season, and in first place in the Metropolitan Division.
What could be the reasoning for it? Team camaraderie, and Laviolette having a funny moment with reporters.
He was asked about the group hug the team does after each practice, but he interrupted to make a very important correction.
"I call it a huddle. I want to make sure you get the word right."
It's awesome to hear a funny moment with the coach on his team "huddle". Laviolette was smiling when he said it and offers a reasoning for the daily group huddle.
"I'm in too many meetings. It's my voice too much. I think sometimes it's good just for players to do something to end the day."
Here is an example of the team, after practice has wrapped, and the huddle begins:
Always good to have a bit of levity in matters like this.
The Rangers will be facing off against the Carolina Hurricanes Thursday, November 2nd, at Madison Square Garden.
Milestone Alert!
The Rangers are 11 wins away from becoming the fifth franchise in league history to achieve 3,000 wins!
