It was announced today by Puckpedia that former New York Rangers forward Sammy Blais had found a new home in the NHL. The forward was placed on waivers this week by the Montreal Canadiens, and had been claimed by the Toronto Maple Leafs, and GM Brad Treliving.

Sammy Blais' stint in New York was short and sweet, as he played a total of 54 games of his NHL career wearing a Blueshirt.
The former 176th overall pick in the 6th round of the 2014 NHL Draft was claimed by the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Blais, a former depth forward for the St. Louis Blues and New York Rangers, should add some grit to the Maple Leafs' bottom-six, where we're sure he'll be a part of the team's push to the Stanley Cup playoffs.

Sammy Blais: 2024-25 NHL Season

Last season, Blais was a fixture in the AHL with the Abbotsford Canucks, the Vancouver Canucks affiliate.
He put up 40 points (14-26) in 51 games with the Canucks and helped the team secure the Calder Cup Trophy last season.
The Canucks wouldn't give him a roster spot this year after a successful 2024-25 season, and instead placed him on waivers after training camp.
He'll suit up for the Original Six team, the Montreal Canadiens, in the always competitive Atlantic Division.
Blais has played 527 games in the NHL and scored 71 points (27-44). His cap hit is $775K AAV, a league minimum contract. He has suited up for the Montreal Canadiens, New York Rangers, and St. Louis Blues.
