On Sunday afternoon, we seen a total of 43 players hit waivers as the 2025 NHL season is just a few days away, among those 43 players we seen a total of four former New York Rangers placed on waivers along with several intriguing former first-round picks.
However, with that being said the Rangers are now being encouraged to reunite with one former defenseman and one former first-round draft pick.
New York Rangers To Steal Former 1st-Round Pick From The Winnipeg Jets
Many New York Rangers fans feel like this is the perfect opportunity to reunite with
former defenseman Erik Gustafsson, as he once played for the Rangers during the 2023-24 season and quickly became a fan favourite after playing 76 games for the organization.
During Gustafsson's time with the Rangers he tallied a total of 6 goals and 25 assists for a total of 31 points.
Ville Heinola is worth a waiver claim - he's younger than
Matthew Robertson and is better in every aspect of the game except size
Of course Erik Gustafsson is the easy choice and Drury should pounce - he's better than Vaakanainen and Soucy

Ville Heinola, is a 24-year old defenseman, who has some experience in the NHL as he has played a total of 53 games with the Jets since being drafted.
