Trusted NHL insider reveals that New York Rangers former defenseman almost landed with a shocking Canadian team before being traded to the Carolina Hurricanes.
During a recent interview, NHL Insider Darren Dreger, revealed that former New York Rangers star defenseman K'Andre Miller was nearly acquired by the Calgary Flames before ultimately being traded to the Carolina Hurricanes.
During free agency, the New York Rangers decided it was time to trade defenseman K'Andre Miller, and immediately there was about 12-15 NHL organizations showing interest in the 25-year old defenseman.

One clearly being the Carolina Hurricanes as that was the team Miller was traded to and now apparently the Calgary Flames were a close second, until the Hurricanes threatened the notion on an offersheet.

Following the trade, K'Andre Miller joined a video call with several reporters and he revealed how he felt about being traded to the Carolina Hurricanes.
Here's what he had to say:
"It was definitely in the back of my head that something could happen, might happen. I loved my time in New York, it was great, but I'm excited for what's to come in Carolina."
