New York Rangers President and General Manager Chris Drury has just completed a massive move regarding their PTO signing with just one day until the Rangers opening-night.
Just a few moments ago, several insiders confirmed that the New York Rangers have signed Conor Sheary on a one-year contract, after signing him to a Professional Tryout earlier this offseason.
The Rangers signed 33-year old forward Conor Sheary to a Professional Tryout (PTO) earlier this offseason. Since then he has played four preseason games for the organization, where he tallied one goal and two assists.
Resulting in the former Stanley Cup champion to secure a one-year, two-way deal worth the league minimum.

Certainly a move many seen coming considering Sheary's connection with head coach Mike Sullivan and due to the fact he attended the Rangers practice a day before their opening-night game.
Sheary was undrafted as he entered the National Hockey league. However, since then he has made quite the name for himself:
The 5-8, 180 pound forward has collected 124 goals and 143 assists for 267 points in 593 career NHL games across 10 seasons between the Lightning, Washington Capitals, Buffalo Sabres and Pittsburgh Penguins. Sheary notched career-high tallies in goals (23), assists (30) and points (57) in 61 games with the Penguins during the 2016-17 season. He has skated in 72 playoff games, tallying seven goals and 16 assists for 23 points, and won back-to-back Stanley Cup championships with Pittsburgh in 2015-16 and 2016-17.
