Trusted NHL insider has just confirmed that former New York Rangers forward's NHL career takes a turn for the worst after joining the Ottawa Senators.
Following a rough season with the New York Rangers, the organization decided not to extend an offer to Kaliyev, leaving him to sign with the Senators. However, thing are taking a massive turn as Chris Johnston confirmed the 24-year old forward will be placed on waivers.
The #sens announce that Arthur Kaliyev will be among the players they place on waivers at 2 p.m. ET today.
Arthur Kaliyev Struggles To Stay Healthy In The National Hockey League
Arthur Kaliyev was originally drafted by the Los Angeles Kings during the 2019 NHL Entry Draft, during the second round with the 33rd overall pick, and has since played in a total of 202 NHL games, tallying 38 goals and 75 points split between the Kings and Rangers.
However, with that being said, the 24-year old forward has struggled to stay healthy during his five seasons in the NHL, just last season he missed the start of last year's regular season after suffering a fractured clavicle during the Kings' training camp.
