The wait is over and after much discussion and wonder, the Calgary Flames have made a major trade tonight involving Chris Tanev who is heading to the Dallas Stars.
The trade was made moments ago and according to Frank Seravalli of the Daily faceoff.com it appears that the Flames have received a 2nd round pick, a prospect and a conditional pick for Tanev.
This trade was anticipated for several weeks as Flames GM Craig Conroy has made it clear he wants to remake the Flames into a new contender.
He has made two previous blockbuster moves including Nikita Zadorov and Elias Lindholm to the Canucks and now Tanev.
This package is what the Flames were looking for and the Stars get a stud defenseman who will give their defence core a much-needed boost. More to come.
