Coach Peter Laviolette Acknowledges Tough 82-Game Rangers Season
Prior to the New York Rangers and Florida Panthers match-up at 8:00 PM on May 22nd, Coach Laviolette was interviewed by local media.
This will be one of the toughest match-ups in the playoffs, as the Florida Panthers are on the hunt for their 1st Stanley Cup.
The Rangers will look to secure their own Stanley Cup dreams, the last time in 1994 with Mike Keenan as bench boss.
Laviolette acknowledged that the 82-game season is a challenge for any team to accomplish. Not every team makes it to the playoffs, and many dreams are crushed before the playoffs, which is true of teams eliminated early like the Chicago Blackhawks, Columbus Blue Jackets, and others.
The work doesn't end for the New York Rangers in this round either, as Laviolette thinks this series will be the toughest for the team in the Eastern Conference Finals against the Cats.
The Rangers finished the 2023-2024 regular season, with a 55-23-4 record and a .695 win percentage.
They defeated the Carolina Hurricanes in 6 games, with a 5-3 finish in game 6 with Chris Kreider leading the way with a natural hat-trick.
Laviolette and the Rangers will have to declaw the cats to move forward in the playoffs.
