Tortorella's lack of respect towards Coots irritates Spittin Chiclets
Last week has been one of the more turbulent weeks for the Flyers as head coach John Tortorella benched newly minted captain Sean Couturier without giving an explanation.
This move set off a firestorm across the web and rose questions about Tortorella's methods.
The hosts of the Spittin chiclets took notice and on their latest episode blasted Torts.
Torts fire brand style towards the media and his players go hand in hand with his coaching.
While the coach of the New York Rangers, Torts continued to pester and call out Brandon Dubinsky repeatedly for what he felt was a lack of play and urgency.
Recently Dubinsky called out torts for his handling of the benching and he didn't mince words of how he felt.
It's interesting to hear this perspective from Ryan Whitney and biz nasty who were both NHL players and they do bring up great points on how head coaches should conduct themselves towards players and the veterans on their team.
But Torts will always remain the same if he's behind the bench and as mentioned, he will run his bench however he sees fit.
