Bruins looking to snap six game losing streak to advance in playoffs
Tonight's game between the Boston Bruins and the Toronto Maple Leafs is one of the most anticipated games in this playoff. It seemed highly unlikely to happen as the Bruins controlled this series being up 3-1. The Maple Leafs stormed back and took games five and six to which the Bruins are now hoping to snap their six-game losing streak in games to advance in the playoffs.
The tweet above shows that the Bruins should have never lost as many games as they have considering the makeup of their team and who they faced especially last year against the Florida Panthers. The Bruins also held a 3-1 lead in that series but let it evaporate to which the Panthers defeated them in Game 7 and went on to go to the Stanley Cup final.
Much will be made about this Bruins team especially if they lose as this is the first year in their playoffs that they do not have Patrice Bergeron or David Krejci in their lineup as both retired from the game last year. The Bruins will need to start on time in game seven as both games five and six they were well behind and gave the Maple Leafs all the momentum they needed to take control of the games.
It appears that it's a toss up between both teams for this Game 7 and the Maple Leafs are not built the same as they were in years past as they have better players on their defense corps better capable of playing playoff hockey. They also have matched the advantage of Jeremy Swayman and as Joseph Woll has been the difference maker for the Leafs in net.
Game seven will be held on Saturday May 4th and game time will be 8:00pm eastern.
