Cam Atkinson has signed new contract after buyout from the Philadelphia Flyers

Former New York Rangers rival signs new contract after having contract bought out.

NHL insider Elliotte Friedman, revealed that Cam Atkinson was recently placed on unconditional waivers for the purpose of a buyout, with only one year remaining on his contract.

Then the following day, Friedman then confirmed that Atkinson had officially cleared waivers.

However, Tampa Bay Lightning General Manager Julien BriseBois has decided to take a chance on a veteran, signing Cam Atkinson to a one year deal.
