The Rangers Second Line Is Still Awesome Despite Loss
The Rangers lost an ugly one last night, a 6-3 defeat at the hands of the Dallas Stars.
This is the Rangers first regulation loss since October 19th, against the Nashville Predators, where they lost 4-1.
A positive note to take out of this is the Rangers second line continues to be the best line for the team!
Vincent Trocheck is playing out of his mind since being inserted into second center, with four goals, seven assists, in the last six games!
Alexis Lafrenière was also buzzing around the ice yesterday. Getting three shots on goal early and drawing a penalty.
Artemi Panarin didn't register a point last night, first time this season, but he was still active yesterday and playing well.
Overall the entire second line is just elite! Panarin, Lafrenière and Trocheck are the three highest point scorers at even strength.
What definitely needs to improve is the production of the first line, especially from
Mika Zibanejad and Blake Wheeler.
Thankfully the season is still early, and head coach Peter Laviolette will have plenty of time to resolve this, prior to the playoffs.
Plus, it's doubtful Wheeler will stay on the first line much longer, especially if the team makes a move at the trade deadline.
Let's see how it unfolds.
